Dr. Mathieu Glassman

Dr. Mathieu Glassman is the CEO of Dr. Cuddles and head of our vet advisory board. With a veterinary degree from The University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine, board-certication in small animal surgery, and an MBA from Wharton, he has combined his passion for animal care and business acumen to help advance the field of veterinary medicine.

Dr. Glassman has spent much of his professional career at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C., where he began his career in 2006 and returned in 2011 after his residency in surgery and orthopedic fellowship, to serve as the Chief of Surgery. Today, he continues to perform surgeries at Friendship Hospital part time as he works to further Dr. Cuddles’ mission.

Over his career, he has authored numerous medical publications and book chapters, been recognized with industry awards and continues to provide pro bono veterinary services to Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to help rescue animals with surgical problems get the care they need to find their forever home.

Dr. JD Foster VMD, DACVIM (SAIM)

Dr. JD Foster completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin and obtained a master’s degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Kansas. After several years in academia, he now runs the Nephrology & Urology and Extracorporeal Therapies services at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC. Dr. Foster’s research interests include nontraditional uses of extracorporeal blood purification, glomerulonephritis, and drug pharmacokinetics in patients with kidney disease. He has lectured internationally on these subjects and has published numerous manuscripts and book chapters in nephrology and urology. He is a past-president of the American Society of Veterinary Nephrology and Urology, a current board member of the International Renal Interest Society, and the nephrology chair and founding member of the American College of Veterinary Nephrology and Urology.

Dr. Monique Maniet, DVM

Born in Brussels, Belgium, Dr. Maniet received her veterinarydegree from the University of Liege in 1976. She has been inprivate practice in the Washington, DC area since 1979, and hasstudied holistic veterinary Medicine extensively. She has been amember of the American Holistic Veterinary MedicineAssociation (AHVMA) since 1984. In 1989, Dr. Maniet successfully completed veterinary acupuncture courses through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society(IVAS), and was accredited. In 1996, Dr Maniet continued her study ofVeterinary Homeopathy with Dr. Richard Pitcairn, DVM, and wascertified by the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy (AVH).She was certified by the Chi Institute in Chinese Veterinary Tui-Na Massage in 2015 and Chinese Veterinary Food Therapy in2016. Dr Maniet is the founder of Veterinary Holistic Care in Bethesda,Maryland, where she cared for over 4000 patients throughNutrition, Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, and OzoneTherapy.

Dr. Daniela Korec, MS DVM ACVIM (Oncology)

Dr. Korec found her inspiration to pursue a career in veterinary medicine early in life. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology from the University of New Mexico, she set out to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. She earned her DVM at The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine. In her first year of Veterinary school, her most precious thirteen year old Golden Retriever, Sunny, passed away from cancer. This changed the course of her studies. In DVM school she found her calling studying oncology. Dr. Korec graduated with the Bob Rosenthal—Outstanding Work in Oncology and the ACVIM Certificate of Clinical Excellence. She went on to complete her internship at VCA Alameda East in Denver. Dr. Korec then returned to OSU where she completed her residency in small animal oncology. She treats patients in the Washington DC area. She is passionate about uncovering new cancer treatments that extend the life span of her patients. Dr. Korec finds her energy when bonding with her patients and their owners.

Dr. Benjamin Brainard

Dr. Brainard received his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, followed by a 1-year internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Georgia. Following his internship, Dr. Brainard completed dual residencies in Veterinary Anesthesiology and Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Brainard is board certified in both veterinary anesthesiology and emergency/critical care. He serves as an associate editor for theJournal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. Dr. Brainard was named the Director of Clinical Research of the College of Veterinary Medicine in June 2017.
